Okay, so . . . here’s some stamps. :-) I have the previous week’s ready to scan. Will post those next Sunday.

Dreamtime is a theme I’ve been working on for awhile so I’ll probably re-visit it again before the year is out. I love using negative images . . . they’re a quick and dirty way to make something “usual” look rather unusual. Some also have that semi-creepy edge that shows up frequently in my artwork, though not by conscious effort.

Thank GOD my printer is working again!

Absent for a bit. . .

February 29, 2008

Sorry for the lack of updates this week! Several technical difficulties have gotten in the way of getting my stamps ready to post. BUT, I shall return after a brief trip out west . . . Keep smilin’ Micci and keep writin’ Reg baby!

AH! Cable issues! Finally all is back online and working. These two stamps are the last two for LAST week . . . good things to give our kids. Dreams and love, I think they are the two BEST things. You know, I’m glad I have lots of both! Tonight I’ll post TODAY’s stamp if the pole is till standing when I get home from work.

053 -Confidence -syene

February 22, 2008

I missed out on this one when I was a little kid. Fortunately, I picked up on it . . . in college when I was forced to have self-confidence. As a parent and as someone who was not self-confident as a child, I know how important this is. I’m thankful I’ve had a chance to attempt to show our daughter how important it s.

052 -Love for Learning -syene

February 21, 2008

I’m very grateful to my parents for giving me a true love for learning. What a great gift to give a kid. :-)

Two more things for our kids, your kids and everyone else’s kids. I’m thankful I’ve been able to hold on to that incredible feeling of wonder. I can’t imagine life without it.

049 -A Place to Play -syene

February 18, 2008

Micci suggested the theme “children” for this week’s stamps in honor of PSU’s THON coming up this weekend. Good idea, Micci! At work tonight I decided to use one word, thing, idea we give our children for each day of this week’s posts. Today’s word is play. We all need time and a safe place to just play. . . both are essential to childhood. I had a fantastic place to play as a child . . . an entire farm. How can one NOT be thankful for that!?

Last two for Valentine’s Day Week. Looking at the past and future today, I guess! All is well looking back AND looking foward. Thank you, Meezo, for both.

The first (045) features two black oak trees on a hill somewhere near Vacaville. The second (046) is sort of self-explanatory. I’m thankful for those great old classic tunes that give us space to allow just enough introspection without a pile of goofy sentimentality.
